Calling all caring neighbors! We have another community build coming up Sept 12, 2026. This one is special because we are participating in Bunks Across America. Nationally there is a nationwide bed building initiative going on the week of Sept 5 – Sept 12, 2026, where Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) chapters across America will be building beds the very same week to try and meet lofty goals and end bedlessness on a large scale. They hope to get 12,000 beds built, 15,000 volunteers engaged nationwide and 250+ chapters participating to get kids off of the floor and into their own beds.
Last year’s BAA was our core team’s very first build, the first of two required for us to practice how to hold a community build, discover areas that worked well and what we needed to improve on. We learned so much as we tried to iron out the kinks. We continue to strive to have our builds run smoothly, efficiently, and are fun and rewarding for our volunteers. It is your engagement, time, energy, and passion that really makes it work. We thank you for getting involved to make a difference and being one of those 15,000 engaged volunteers helping us on this upcoming build with a nationwide impact.
Please plan to join us on Saturday Sept. 12, 2026 at Mueller Implements/Rentals in Dodgeville on YZ next to Farm & Fleet. Anyone can volunteer with SHP, no experience required. We hope to make 10 bunk bed tops with the extra safety rails.
