Robert (Bob) Francis Brassington

Lone Rock – Robert (Bob) Francis Brassington, devoted husband, beloved father, and adored grandfather passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026 at the age of 86. He was born on May 18, 1940 to Francis and Velma (Denner) Brassington.

Bob grew up in West Port/Middleton, WI and graduated from Waunakee High School. After serving in the Army Reserves, he started and ended his career as a ham boner at Oscar Mayer at which time he retired to enjoy his loves of fishing, hunting and family.

Bob was a man most at home in the outdoors. Whether he was casting a line on the water, tracking game through the woods, or spending quiet evenings at the lake cottage with family, he was never more himself than when surrounded by nature. He spent countless hours working in the woods, cutting trees, building deer stands, and clearing trails – not out of obligation but out of genuine joy for the work and the land. Those who knew him well understood that an invitation to join Bob outdoors was one of the highest honors he could offer. When he wasn’t out on the land Bob could often be found in his gun room – a space that was very much his own.
Bob was fiercely loyal and deeply compassionate, and he held those same qualities in the highest regard in others. He didn’t ask for much, but he gave everything – and he expected the people around him to do the same. That integrity was the backbone of who he was and how he raised his family.

Above all, Bob had a profound and unwavering love for his family and friends. He showed that love not always in words, but in presence – in the shared mornings at deer camp, afternoons on the pontoon, and evenings gathered together at the lake. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife Judy (Doan) Brassington: his children, Cindy Pedro, Shelly (Tony) Havel of Prairie Du Sac, and James (Jayme) Brassington of Soldiers Grove; his grandchildren Samantha, Kristopher, and Sydney Vils, Faye (Garrett Finnell) and Alisha Brassington, Malia Pedro and Thomas Marquardt; his bonus grandsons Chase Havel and Leo Collins. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Sandra Weitzel, Mary Sue (Rod) Radtke; his brothers-in-law Greg Doan and Gary Griffiths; his nieces and nephews Sara (Tim) Larson, Leah (Chris) Sberna, Alyssa (Cal) Gavic, Kyle (Christina) Weitzel and Luke (Hannah Loudenbeck) Radtke; great nieces & nephews, cousins and many friends who became family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law Linda Griffiths, his brother-in-law Larry Weitzel, his niece Jill Griffiths and his nephew Ron Griffiths.
