LEXIE WEIER, a former Mount Horeb athlete from Mineral Point, recorded a top-10 finish for the U W – W women’s track team last week.

Weier, a senior horizontal jump specialist, finished eighth in triple jump at the Phil Esten Challenge, hosted by UW-La Crosse. the

On her first attempt, Weier marked 36 feet 3 inches (11.05m), which was tops for the three Warhawks in the field of 35 jumpers.

UW-W hosts the Drake Alternative Meet on Friday at the Rex Foster Track.

DOM MCVAY, a former Mineral Point High School athlete, collected five hits

for the UW- Whitewater baseball team last week.

McVay, a 5-foot 9- inch junior OF, hit .357 (5-for-14) as the Warhawks chalked up four wins over UW-Platteville, outscoring the Pioneers 24-11.

He scored three runs and knocked in one – his 18th run batted in (RBI) of the season.

McVay produced a pair of 2-for-3 games where he was on base a total of five times including a walk.

LEYTEN BOWERS, a former Mineral Point High School athlete reached base in all four games against the Pioneers. ,

Bowers, a 6-0 senior INF , slapped three hits, walked three times, and reached on a fielder’s choice.

He collected two RBIs in a 12-1 victory and scored once in a 3-1 win.

Bowers also stole two bases, bringing his total to six, and has yet to be thrown out this season.

The Warhawks remain one of the hottest teams in NCAA Division III having won 24 games in a row following a 1-3 start.

UW-W (25-3, 17-0) plays a doubleheader at UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday before UW-River Falls comes to Prucha Field this weekend.

LIAM STUMPF, a former Mineral Point High School athlete, played in one game for the Central Michigan University (CMU) baseball team last weekend.

Stumpf, a 6-0 redshirt senior pitcher, tossed the final twothirds of an inning in a 16-6 loss to Ohio University.

He faced four Redhawks, allowing two hits and striking out one. CMU (16-20, 9-12) hosts Rochester Christian University (Mich) on Wednesday before a series at Miami University (Oh).

ELI LINDSEY, a former Mineral Point High School athlete, was one of nine Viterbo men’s golfers in action last weekend.

Lindsey, a freshman, carded a 166 (82-84) at the Luther Spring Classic at the Oneota Golf & Country Club in Decorah, Ia.

The V-Hawks finished with a score of 630 (315- 315) and tied Loras for third place. Viterbo plays next in the CCAC Championships in Silvas, Ill., beginning Thursday. VITERBO
