As kind of a 2026 high school wrestling finale, a “King of Wisconsin” tournament was held at Kettle Moraine High School on Sunday, March 15. Two of the competitors chosen were from this area – Dodgeville’s Haakon Peterson and Mineral Point’s Liam Carey.

Peterson wrestling at 165 lbs., scored a 19-4 technical fall at 3:43 over Oostberg’s Liam Richards. Richards was the WIAA Division 3 state champion while Peterson won the Division 2 title.

Carey, wrestling at 132 lbs. and the WIAA state Division 3 runner-up at 126 lbs., dropped a 14-3 major decision to Division 3 state 132 lb. runner-up from Watertown.
