Is this heaven? Nope – it’s Pointernaion.

Mineral Point took the field Thursday night at the legendary Field of Dreams, squaring off with Pecatonica in a game dominated by pitching.

Runs were hard to come by, and although Mineral Point finished with more hits, Pecatonica capitalized when it mattered most to secure a 2-0 win.

Hudson Schroeder delivered a solid outing on the mound for the Pointers, working five and twothirds innings while allowing just two hits and two runs, along with four strikeouts and two walks.

Mineral Point managed four hits on the night, with Conner Rolli accounting for half of them. However, the Pointers couldn’t find a way to bring any runners home.

The breakthrough came in the sixth inning when Pecatonica used small ball to take control. Austin Enloe’s sacrifice bunt brought in the first run, and Reid Schlimgen followed with a sacrifice fly to make it 2-0.

Enloe was credited with the win after throwing four and two-thirds scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out four without a walk. Ashton McNett came in to finish things off, tossing two and one-third no-hit innings despite issuing three walks.

At the plate, Schlimgen and Enloe each drove in a run, while Marty Anderson set the pace for Pecatonica with two hits from the leadoff spot.
