Garage and Bake Sale

The Mineral Point First United Methodist Church will host a garage and bake sale on Friday, April 10 frm 7-5 and on Saturday, April 11 from 7-1. They will also have a brat sale from 10-1 both days.

Garage sale weekend is here

Nearly 40 sales will be part of a community-wide garage sale event sponsored by the Mineral Point Chamber of Commerce. Some sales start today, and others begin Friday and continue Saturday.

Maps, which include hours of each sale, are available at convenience stores and online at the Chamber website, www.mineralpoint.com

Some churches hold rummage sales in conjunction with the event.

Pancake breakfast April 19

The Mineral Point Rescue Squad will hold a fundraising pancake breakfast April 19 at the station, 907 Ridge St.

Pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs and orange juice will be served 8 to 11:30 a.m. for dine in or carryout.

Free will donations are encouraged.

First Farmers Market May 2 Farmers Market season kicks off May 2 in Mineral Point.

The market runs 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Water Tower Park. Vegetables, plants, honey, eggs, baked goods and crafts are among the items offered.

Mens Bible Study

A mens Bible study will meet every Tues morning at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Norm Johnson, 908 Fountain Street in Mineral Point. We represent no particular religion and only work with the King James version of the Bible. All are invited to attend to attend a wonderful time conversing and answering questions anyone has. There is plenty of parking in the yard and coffee is available. Call 608-425-8095 with questions.

FREE Tax Filing Assistance Available

Volunteer Tax-Aide counselors trained and certified by the IRS will provide one-on-one assistance helping low-to-moderate income or older individuals complete and file their tax returns. This includes 1040 tax forms with schedules A, B, C and D along with the corresponding Wisconsin forms and the Homestead Tax Credit.

Volunteers are available in Spring Green and in Dodgeville by appointment only.

This is program is through the AARP Foundation.

State Solor & Ensemble to perform recital at MPOH

Some of the Mineral Point Middle & High Schoolers who have qualified for the State Solo & Ensemble competition will be performing a recital at the Mineral Point Opera House Thursday, April 9 beginning at 7:30 pm free of charge. Come on out and support these talented musicians!

Passes

Prepare to cheer on the Pointers! FREE passes for Senior Citizens (MPSD resident age 55 and over). Includes all regular season home MPHS events for the sports that charge admission — football, volleyball, boys and girls basketball, and wrestling. (SWC/SWAL CLASH Wrestling & all sport WIAA postseason events not included). Passes may be obtained in the high school office. Thanks for your support of the Blue and White!

Suicide Loss Grief Group

Suicide Loss Grief Group meets the 2nd Thursday of each month from 7-9: p.m. at the Health and Human Services Building, 303 W. Chapel St. Meetings are for people 18 yrs and older that have lost someone they care about to suicide. For more information: SPCICWI@gmail.com
