“Volunteers are love in motion” Author Unknown … And there has been a whole lot of love and a whole lot of motion in Iowa County recently. Imagine 3 kids are off the floor now and in their own beds, and 10 bunk beds (20 beds with extra safety rails) are handcrafted and ready to get more kiddos off the floor and kids are helping kids by cutting, snipping and tying soft warm blankets to cover the kids up to their chins. What a blessing!
We delivered 3 beds in Mineral Point right before Easter. Volunteers hauled materials, mattresses and bedding for a bunk bed and single bed up a full flight of stairs and were still smiling. That is heart! The children were so appreciative and so eager to jump in and help and jump into their new beds, a whole lot of smiles. We can’t say enough about our volunteers that come out to help our kids and make a difference in their lives.
Saturday, we had our 2nd community build out at Mueller’s Implements/Rentals in Dodgeville and there was a whole lot of motion there as saws were cutting, sanders were buzzing, drills were whirling, straps were being stapled on to slats, lumber was carried and moved from table to table and station to station. Boards were dipped and branded it was a flurry of excited activity, love in motion. We couldn’t have done it without you. Your impact on our community and its kids and teens is the heart of it all.
Dodgeville’s St Joe’s students worked together side by side to raise funds for soft, cozy, colorful fleece and turned them into blankets to help other kids. Such cuteness that warms our hearts and the kids that will receive them.
