Lettie Louise Wehrle

Lettie Louise Wehrle, age 76, passed away peacefully at home on November 4, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She faced her cancer with remarkable strength and cherished every last moment she had with her loved ones.

Lettie was born on February 22, 1950 in Rockton, Il, to the late Henry Beachey and Opal Washburn.

Lettie graduated from Fennimore High School and on June 8, 1968, was married to the love of her life, Jim Wehrle. Together they built a beautiful family and raised three children, and eventually twelve grandchildren, all of whom brought so much joy to their lives.

Lettie worked at the telephone company and then went on to work at Lands’ End, before retiring after twenty-seven years.  She loved gardening, reading, knitting, baking, and was a member of the Red Hat Society, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Hope Lutheran Church Women’s Group. Recently, she and her husband Jim were named ‘Citizens of the Year’ by the American Legion. Her favorite thing in the world was being able to attend every activity and sport that her children and grandchildren were involved in. She was so very proud of each and every one of them!

Lettie is survived by her husband, Jim, of 58 years and her legacy of love includes: her son, Tim (Lynne) Wehrle of Sauk Rapids, MN, daughter, Dr. Tammy Wehrle (Mike James) of Mineral Point, WI, and daughter, Tari (Scott) Goninen of Mineral Point, WI; her grandchildren, Bowen Wehrle (Shelby), Trinity Wehrle, Joah Filardo, Koby Filardo, Luke Filardo, Lauren (Blake) Wendhausen, Alan James, Kate James, Eli James, Tanner Goninen, Breanna Goninen, and Annison Goninen. She is also survived by her brother, Ben Wilson of Rockford, IL, as well as a long list of wonderful family members, including brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and so many other extended family members and friends.

“Our Grandma made this world a better place by giving us all of her love and most importantly, her cookies and pumpkin bars”.

The Family would like express their deepest gratitude to Dr. McGraw, all of her doctors, nurses and staff at Upland Hills, and also the Fresenius Kidney dialysis center for their compassionate care.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2026 at 12:00 noon at Hope Lutheran Church in Mineral Point.  Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.  A luncheon will follow the service and a private burial will be held at a later date.
