An advisory committee will aim to increase nutrition and participation in the Mineral Point School lunch program.
The school board approved formation of the eightto 10-member committee Monday night.
It will include local meat and vegetable producers, lunch program officials, medical advisors and others who will report back to the board within six months.
The district brought food service back within the district two years ago.
The board also approved 24 students coming into the district through open enrollment, and six leaving.
Some applications were denied due to space constraints.
In other action, the board:
· Approved hiring Ragan Heisner as elementary special education teacher.
. Approved hiring Annika McGill, who had been a student teacher here, and Lilly Behlke, currently teaching in Shullsburg, as elementary teachers for next school year.
· Accepted the resignations of instructional assistants Ross Coogan and Spenser Moore.
· Elected Aaron Dunn board president, Justin Skelding vice president, Will Harris clerk and Joni Heisner treasurer.
