The Pointers hit the road to Cuba City for an afternoon matchup and came away with a solid 5-1 win.
Mineral Point wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, striking in the first inning. Brett Bossert lined an RBI single down the right field line, and Hudson Schroeder followed with a groundout that brought in another run.
They added to their lead in the third inning, taking advantage of a Cuba City error along with an RBI single from Brylen Lee to create more separation.
Cole Ripp turned in a strong performance on the mound, earning the win after allowing just one run on five hits over six innings. He struck out six and walked three. Lee came into close things out, tossing a scoreless inning without allowing a hit.
At the plate, Lee led the team with two RBIs from the seven spot in the lineup, while Evan Kearns paced the offense with two hits in four at-bats.
Mineral Point also played clean defense behind their pitching, finishing the game without committing an error. Lee was especially active defensively, recording a team-high six plays.
