Mineral Point did some muscle flexing Tuesday and romped over Riverdale 14-2 in a SWAL softball gam.
The Pointers banged out 18 hits with some real power thrown in. Maddy Kabat had a trip and a hom run in two trips and drove home two runs.
Winning pitcher Aida Tuttle doubled and tripled, driving in a pair.
Tenleigh Bockhop drove in three runs and had a triple among her two hits.
Jadyn Schultz, Chloe McVay, Ava Ingwell and Leah Hoffman all had two hits for the Pointers.
Tuttle struck out 12 batters to lead the Pointers past the Chieftains. Tuttle gave up five hits and two runs over five innings while walking one. The Pointers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Kabat tripled to center field, Schultz singled down the left field line, and Bockhop grounded out, each scoring arun.
Mineral Point scored seven runs on six hits in the top of the second inning. Kabat homered to left field, driving in two runs, Schultz singled, scoring one run, Bockhop tripled, scoring two runs, Ingwell singled, scoring one run, and an error scored one run.
The Pointers added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Tuttle tripled down the right field line, Bockhop singled to center field, and Hoffman singled to right field, each scoring one run.
