Dear Editor,
I want to thank everyone that attended the Community Conversation Saturday evening in Mineral Point. Governor candidate, Tom Tiffany and State Representative, Travis Tranel, both spoke regarding re-establishing local control over wind and solar projects.
This is a bi-partisan issue, and we need to continue to call/write our local politians to push for this local control. The Town of Mineral Point hosted this well attended event and allowed numerous attendees to voice their concerns.
Thank you to everyone that helped organize and promote this event. We will continue to fight for the Driftless area. Mineral Point is a unique, historic city that should not be surrounded by 650′ industrial wind turbines.
Please continue to contact your
legislators and the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. Make your voices heard. We should not allow ~2% of the population ruin our picturesque area and our health. Pattern Energy is planning ~51 industrial wind turbines east of Mineral Point. These will be visible from the top of High Street.
You like to hike on the trails east of Shake Rag Street? You will see the wind turbines. Industrial wind turbines do not help promote historical areas. We need to protect our unique town. Go to YouTube and watch Mineral Point – An Artful Oasis by Discover Wisconsin. We don’t need industrial wind turbines. We need to protect the health and safety of our residents.
