Mineral Point City Council Takes Action on Grants, Staffing, and Long-Term Lease

The Mineral Point City Council Tuesday night:

  • Designated City Administrator Matt Honer as authorized representative to apply for a state Department of Natural Resources outdoor recreation grant for Soldiers Memorial Park parking lot and tennis court reconstruction.
  • Added city emergency management coordinator to the duties of Streets Foreman Chad Whitford.
  • Approved summer staffing targets for the pool, including manager and lifeguards, as well as seasonal park staff. Applications are due Friday.
  • Extended the lease of the Commerce Street parking lot, owned by the Pecatonica Rail Transit Commission, for another 40 years, for a one-time payment of $525 to cover legal expenses.
