With a Regional Title on the line, the #10 Mineral Point Pointers faced off against the #5 Albany/Monticello Space Stallions.
The Pointers came into the matchup riding a 52-36 victory over the Cambridge Blue Jays, while the Space Stallions entered the game fresh off a 53-36 win over Abundant Life/Christian Saint Ambrose.
The first half was a physical battle, with the Space Stallions holding a slim 3-point edge over the Pointers at halftime.
The second half started with the Space Stallions taking control, building an early 31-24 lead. Led by Hedi Olson, who commanded the floor with 19 points. The Pointers fought back, cutting the deficit to 3 with just under 10 minutes remaining, thanks to balanced scoring and strong leadership from Sadie Miller and Maddy Kabat, each contributing 8 points.
However, the Space Stallions maintained their composure, paced the game effectively, and pulled away to secure an 11-point lead, never looking back.
Albany/Monticello captured the regional championship with a 58- 33 victory over the Mineral Point Pointers and will move on to compete in the sectional semifinal.
